British conductor Martyn Brabbins studied conducting in St Petersburg and is acclaimed for his interpretation of the Russian repertoire.
Written towards the end of Tchaikovsky's life, the Adagio finale to the Pathetique Symphony is one of the most touching depictions of the dying of the light in the symphonic repertoire.
We are delighted to welcome back to Adelaide one of the finest pianists on the planet, Stephen Hough, in Tchaikovsky's Second Piano Concerto.
