TOUR ONE: REVOLUTION.

The Australian Chamber Orchestra launches its 2007 National Concert Season with Richard Tognetti taking on Beethoven's revolutionary Violin Concerto. The program concludes with Beethoven's colossal 'Heroic' symphony, which was initially dedicated to Napoleon and now calls to mind all heroes, for all time.

TOUR TWO: RADIANT
Olli Mustonen, one of the most acclaimed and original pianists performing today, brings to life Mozart's Piano Concerto K.413 as the radiant centerpiece of a concert program which rejoices in the musical meeting of hearts and minds. The Australian Chamber Orchestra take this opportunity to shine in CPE Bach's Symphony in B-flat major and Walton's engaging Sonata for Strings: both perfect ACO material.

TOUR THREE: ENCHANTED
Traditional singer Danny Spooner and 'gun' fiddler Mike Kerin join Richard Tognetti and other members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra for a concert of surprising contrasts and enchanting discoveries, from traditional ear-catching folk songs to virtuoso masterpieces by Bach, Paganini and Brahms.

TOUR FOUR: HOPE
Violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja makes her Australian debut directing the Australian Chamber Orchestra with a program suited to her reputation: virtuosic, intriguing and unconventional. Vivaldi's lively 'Mogul' balances the similarly exuberant style of Kodaly's traditional dances and Rossini's extraordinary String Sonata.

TOUR FIVE: ADVENTUROUS
'Ultra-trombonist' Christian Lindberg joins the Australian Chamber Orchestra for a concert showcasing his vast talent as both a soloist and composer. In a similarly adventurous spirit, Richard Tognetti draws out the rich stained-glass colours of Debussy's beautiful String Quartet in a new version for string orchestra.

TOUR SIX: RAPTURE
Australian recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey displays her astounding musical talents in new works tailor-made for her by Estonia's Erkki-Sven Tuur and Perth composer James Ledger, and in Telemann's fleet fingered Concerto. Verdi's luscious String Quartet brings the Australian Chamber Orchestra's National Concert Season to a rapturous close.
