One of Australia's foremost popular culture events celebrating anime and manga comes to Adelaide for the first time.
Japanese animation (anime) has exploded on the Australian popular culture scene in recent years bursting its way onto mainstream TV in programs such as Pokemon and Naruto on Channel 10 and ABC's Deathnote.
Everything celebrating this unique animated medium and its comic book counterpart, manga, can be found at the Animania Festival 09 including art displays, games, stalls, karaoke, competitions, and anime screenings.
One of the highlights will be the Cosplay (Costume Play) Competition. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Japanese pop culture character for the chance to compete for a place in the Australian Preliminary of the World Cosplay Summit!
