GENERAL WORKSHOP INFORMATION.

Adelaide International Guitar Festival Workshops provide guitarists with the opportunity to learn from masters of their craft on a broad range of subjects. Whilst our workshop program is open to all, some workshops do ask for participants to have certain competency and skill levels (as detailed below). Information updates will be available on the web closer to the festival at www.adelaideguitarfestival.com.au

Sat 29 Nov - CAL WILLIAMS JR: 'Finger Picking'
Open to students of any skill level and bring your instrument! Cal's workshop will concentrate on finger picking techniques, improvisation, chord theory, open tunings and concepts to play the guitar as a complete instrument.

Sun 30 Nov - MATT WALKER: Finding Your Own Sound
A guitar and slide guitar workshop that focuses on 'getting your own sound' and the importance of finding you own unique style and standing out. Basic skill level and up, instruments not essential.

Sun 30 Nov - MASON RACK: Slide Guitar
A demonstration-style workshop for basic to intermediate slide players. Includes information sheets and special guest slide player Glenn 'the mex' Heffernan. Bring your slide!

An information demonstration workshop about the Chapman Stick. Bring your stick (not essential if you don't have one), suitable for basic skill level and upwards.

Thurs 4 Dec - JESSIE HARRIS: Songwriting
An opportunity for song writers to explore approaches to songwriting in 'inspired' and 'for hire' situations. Includes an opportunity to play a song or two and receive feedback, comments and a "critique" if you want! This workshop is for participants who are songwriters. Instruments not essential but you can bring one if you'd like to play your song/s.

A workshop for oud players of basic skill level and upwards by Joseph and his brother James. Bring your instrument. This workshop is also open for interested guitar players to come along and observe quietly.
