Originating on the streets and salons of Rio de Janeiro, choro has its roots in Africa and the Iberian peninsula and has become the basis for the rich and vital music of Brazil, which has had a powerful influence on popular music worldwide.
Master guitarist Doug de Vries, Brazilian guitar virtuoso Yamandú Costa and choro-based trio Caliente come together in an intimate evening of exciting, multi-layered and deeply cultural music in tribute to some of Brazil's finest composers.
