A Song Cycle in Five Parts for Guitar and Violin
Synonymous with romance and expression, the rich textures of the guitar and violin intertwine in this new collaboration between guitarist/composer Anthony Garcia and internationally acclaimed violinist Niki Vasilakis.
Garcia's unique compositional voice transcends many genres and will be showcased in a series of solo and duo works. The centrepiece of this program will be a world premier - Songs from the Divine Wilderness. The musical landscape of this composition spans the length and breadth of these instruments' tonal worlds, forming a passionate dance through five movements. The souls of the guitar and violin combine to retell ancient stories in a contemporary way.
The cabaret-style setting of the Space Theatre adds to the intimacy and closeness of what promises to be a unique, special performance.
