BENAUD TRIO 2010.

In 2010 the Benauds present two concerts filled with excitement and musical fun. Concerts are approximately one hour followed by afternoon tea.

The Benaud Trio is one of Australia's finest young ensembles. Formed in early 2005, pianist Amir Farid, violinist Lachlan Bramble, and cellist Ewen Bramble have established themselves as formidable performers of the major repertoire, works by Australian composers and music with a pop/jazz influence.

Concert 1
Majesty
Sunday August 29, 3pm.
W. A. Mozart - Piano Trio in G major K.564
Johannes Brahms - Piano Trio in B major Op.8

The Benaud Trio compare masterpieces by two of the greatest composers. While Mozart writes melodies that are elegant, uncomplicated and beautiful beyond words, Brahms' Trio is sonorous, turbulent then triumphant, with a majesty that few others can match.

Concert 2
Cafe Music
Sunday December 5, 3pm.
Franz Schubert - Piano Trio in B flat Op.99
Paul Schoenfield - Cafe Music

The premier of Schubert's magical Op.99 Trio involved much drinking, dancing and high spirits! Paul Schoenfield's 1987 hit 'Cafe Music' was written with exactly this sort of merriment in mind. Combining elements of Viennese, gypsy and Broadway styles, Schoenfield's witty take on high class dinner music is a rollicking rollercoaster of musical fun.
