Bison

After the success of Blowing Whistles in 2008, Focus Theatre is coming back to Feast to present their new work Bison. Already a hit at Belvoir Street Theatre as part of this year's Mardi Gras festival, Bison will prove to be another huge hit here in Adelaide.

Inspired by Australian playwright Lachlan Philpott's experiences on the scene, Bison follows four guys as they search for that illusive special something in the gay hunting grounds of Sydney and beyond. "Bison is the herd - out there on the scene, sniffing at the arse of the guy in front, following the same route to the bars, clubs, saunas and beats," says Director Pete Nettell. "Lachlan reveals the underbelly of the gay world: the play is full of recognisable characters and situations; it's very funny, but very disturbing too".

Bison tells a warts and all story with intelligence, humour, tenderness and honesty and its wry observations about gay life - past, present and virtual - are right on the money.

If you rarely go to theatre you should make this one of those rare occasions.
