Stabat Mater and Angel Song.

STABAT MATER
Pergolesi's famous account of Mary kneeling at the Cross is a tour de force for soprano and countertenor, bridging the gap between the choral and operatic repertoire. The stunning purity of Syntony's singers will be complemented by some of Australia's finest baroque players: three of the principal string players of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra - Lucinda Moon and Ben Dollman (violins) and Jamie Hey (cello), and Adelaide's own Tim Marks (viola), and Glenys March (harpsichord).

Emma Horwood - soprano
Matthew Rutty - countertenor
Timothy Marks - bass/viola
Lucinda Moon - violin
Ben Dollman - violin
Jamie Hey - cello
Glenys March - harpsichord

ANGEL SONG
Christmas has been celebrated in song for many centuries, bringing people together to share festivities. Syntony's Christmas tradition continues this year with five of Adelaide's finest singers presenting a programme of music celebrating the spirit of this joyous season. With Christmas music by Bach, Byrd and Poulenc to works with angelic harp accompaniment and beautiful arrangements of Christmas favourites, join Syntony for this special occasion.

Bridget Warnes - soprano
Emma Horwood - soprano & harp
