The Adelaide Cabaret Festival has become a major event in the international and Australian Arts calendar, as the most comprehensive cabaret festival in the world. It has earned a reputation of highlighting the best local, national and international artists in the cabaret genre.
The festival offers unforgettable nights of music, satire, comedy, and late night booty shakin' all under the one roof at South Australia's creative heart, the Adelaide Festival Centre. Transformed into various sized cabaret venues with bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs and comfy nooks, the Adelaide Festival Centre will buzz with audiences enjoying drinks, food and chatting about the next best thing in cabaret.
In 2010 the Adelaide Festival Centre will present its tenth annual Adelaide Cabaret Festival, opening on the Queen's Birthday long weekend from 11 - 26 June, under the Artistic Directorship of entertainer David Campbell.
The 2010 Festival highlights include 'nine-time Grammy award-winner' Natalie Cole, appearing in her only Australian performances, Tony Award winning star of A Chorus Line Donna McKechnie, international star of stage and screen Caroline O'Connor, and returning by popular demand Hugh Sheridan in Newley Discovered. Also, catch pop idol Damien Leith in a show dedicated to his Irish roots, The Wharf Revue in their political parody Pennies from Kevin and French band Nouvelle Vague, taking the songs that you adore and making you fall in love with them all over again.
For the full program, which features over 250 artists, over 120 performances, across 16 days and nights go to the Festival's website www.adelaidecabaretfestival.com.
